Garlic is one of the very underrated nature’s gifts. It can really do wonders. You probably know garlic as a spice plant with a very strong pungent taste. Garlic can really change the taste of your dishes radically. It is really awesome. But the benefits of garlic is much more immense. It has unbelievable medicinal benefits to our health and beauty.
Garlic is one of the oldest crops harvested by humans. It has been used in Indian and Egyptian civilization about 5000 years ago. The Babylonian society also used garlic about 4000 years ago. Garlic is believed to be originated in Central Asia. It was referred to as the center of origin. It is believed that then it spread all over the world with human migrations. Garlic grows best in temperate regions, which is between the tropical and polar regions. Garlic also grows in tropical regions. Garlic has become an integral part of human species. Around 10 million metric tons of garlic is produced each year across the world. China is the biggest producer of garlic, producing around 66% of global production.
Garlic is known for its unmatchable antiseptic and antibiotic properties. It is also potent with anti-inflammatory properties. These medicinal properties together make garlic one of the potent herbs against harmful micro-organisms. The benefits of garlic for skin care, hair, and overall health are depicted in the following:
1. Keeps Blood Pressure Stable
Garlic can really stabilize your blood pressure level. Garlic contains S-allyl cysteine, a chemical compound which is super effective in controlling blood pressure level stable. The allicin component of garlic is responsible for that. Unfortunately, allicin gets destroyed after heat treatment. So if you want to ripe the full benefits of allicin, you better eat raw garlic cloves.

Researchers have found that garlic consumption has a direct effect in reducing the LDL cholesterol level. In lab rats, garlic consumption has improved the animals liver function significantly. How to Use Garlic to Treat Acne
Garlic can be taken in many ways to treat various skin problems. You can ingest garlic cloves or apply topically to get the expected result. Here are some of my garlic home remedies, which you can use to remove acne or acne scars.
Garlic & Rose Water (Topical Use)
This mixture works so well. The great thing about this garlic and rose water mixture is it is well suited for everyone. For many people who have sensitive skin, raw garlic can be very uncomfortable.
- Mince 2 garlic cloves
- Add 1 tablespoon Rosewater
- Gently apply the mixture on the affected area of your skin
- Leave on for a few minutes
- Rinse with water and dry off.
Yogurt & Garlic Mixture (Both For Edible & Topical Use)
- Mince 3 or 4 garlic cloves properly
- Add 2 tablespoon of yogurt
- Add ½ or 1 teaspoon of honey
- Mix it well
- Eat it or apply it on the face like a mask
- Leave the mask for 20 minutes
- Rinse with water.
These are my two favorite methods of taking garlic. You can also use them with apple cider vinegar or aloe vera. You can also take garlic extract supplements for your convenience.
